In our March issue, we told you about the revised transmission programming applied to all '12 A6 Corvettes ("Lickety Shift").
According to GM, the changes yielded much quicker upshifts via the car's steering-wheel-mounted paddles. Having just had a chance to drive an automatic '12 Grand Sport, we can attest that the claims are true. Mashing the paddles near redline under heavy acceleration results in near-instantaneous upshifts, a drastic improvement over the languorous response times characteristic of previous models.
