Callaway Cars announces the grand opening of Callaway West, the official satellite headquarters and production facility for the company’s West Coast activities, based in Corona, Calif.
The twenty seven thousand square-foot, state of the art facility – neighboring Callaway’s suspension development partner, Eibach Springs – houses the company’s corporate offices, an assembly center and a showroom, featuring the latest Powerfully Engineered Automobiles and performance products.
Callaway West will serve as the production facility for all Callaway C16 vehicles, including the C16 Coupe, Cabrio and the completely topless C16 Speedster. The facility will also produce Callaway Corvettes for all of the company’s authorized dealers in the western United States.
In addition, Callaway West will be the newest research and development facility for Callaway Cars. Working with local partners, such as Eibach Springs, the Callaway West team will design and build the latest performance parts and accessories for classic and new Corvettes. Callaway West will also function as testing facility for Callaway’s new performance products and vehicles to be announced in 2009.
“This West Coast facility is another important milestone in the Callaway Cars’ legacy,” said Reeves Callaway, President and Founder of Callaway Cars. “We have had a presence on the West Coast for years, but this new facility will truly solidify us as part of the Southern California car culture.”
Callaway Cars has grown from garage based venture to multinational industry leader with facilities in Connecticut, Germany and now Southern California. The Callaway Cars vehicle program offers built-to order supercars including the 650 hp C16 and the 580 hp Callaway supercharged version of the C6 Corvette. Callaway Corvettes are available nationwide through a network of authorized Chevrolet dealers, while C16 vehicles are available via special order through Callaway West and East coast facilities.
