Officials with the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company recently announced that vehicle consignment spots for the company’s inaugural Las Vegas event have been sold out, proving once again that economic woes are no match for the thriving collector car hobby.

Barrett-Jackson will continue to accept bidder applications from collectors looking to nab one of these amazing vehicles; tickets to the event are also still on sale. The Las Vegas event will take place Oct. 15-18, 2008, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on the Las Vegas Strip. The auction will feature over 500 desirable collector vehicles and lavish lifestyle events, while SPEED cameras capture live, high-definition coverage.

“The tremendous response we received from consignors to take part in the Las Vegas event demonstrates the resiliency of the hobby and the scope of a Barrett-Jackson event,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “During tough economic times, people tend to scale back on ancillary activities but stick to their passions. Car collecting is certainly a passion, and Barrett-Jackson will transform Mandalay Bay into the center of the collector car universe in October.”

The Las Vegas docket will include an eclectic mix of collector vehicles, such as a 1949 MG TC (Lot #819) that was Carroll Shelby’s first race car, a 1957 Ford Thunderbird “F” Convertible (Lot #817) and Le Bestioni (Lot #813), a 1918 boattail speedster created by Gary Wales.

Bidders interested in attending the auction can visit www.barrett-jackson.com/events/lasvegas/bidders or call (480) 421-6694. Barrett-Jackson bidders receive one bidder paddle and one guest credential valid all days of the event, a preferred parking pass, access to the bidder seating area and hosted bidder bar, two invitations to the Opening Night Party on Oct. 15 and an event catalog.

Starting on Oct. 16, gates will open at 8 a.m., with the automobilia auction commencing at 9 a.m. daily and the collector car auction beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until the evening.

General admission tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster at www.barrett-jackson.com and will be sold at the event. Adult tickets are $15 per day for Thursday and Friday and $20 for Saturday; three day passes are available for $40 and discount tickets are available for Seniors, Students and Military with ID and Children.
