VETTE magazine was invited to take a ride in a 2009 Corvette ZR1 on Tuesday at Texas Motor Speedway.

After taking photography for a feature story on the ZR1 to appear in an upcoming issue of VETTE magazine, we donned our racing helmet and climbed into the passenger seat for three hot laps around the Texas Motor Speedway road course.

Make no doubt about it, we've been in Z06s, wildly modified C6s, and Calloway supercharged Corvettes. The ZR1 made them all look like Grandma's Oldsmobile.

Within seconds we accelerated from 0-100 miles an hour and carved the road course with record times. Look for the video of our ZR1 experience on www.vetteweb.com.
