Everyone can see it, there's a lack of youth in the Corvette world...

For the most part, Corvettes are owned by older people who are more affluent, but also less liekly to modify or push the envelope with their Corvettes. How can Chevrolet, the Vette aftermarket, and the magazine get mroe youth into the Corvette market?

1. To me it is sad that I see Vette owners babying their cars. I'm not sure that it takes younger drivers. I believe it takes enthusiastic drivers who know what they are driving. It seems that the older drivers I see in Vettes are first time buyers of a fine street race car.....they don't know what they have or they are afraid of the gas milage, which in turn they should not be driving it in the first place. I am about to turn fifty and love cars, I have been racing motorcycles for the last 35 years. I just recently purchased a 2003 Vette which I have dreamed about my entire life. All you Vette owners out their need to drive your car the way it was meant to be driven.......or send it back!!!!!

2. I Am the young(i dont consider myself lol)
I haved loved corvettes since I was A Little kid, and my dad took me to a local showroom, and saw 86/87 model year. Since then,it is all i could talk about. Even though among me where Import Guys,'Stangs,Ferrari/Porsche, I could only and still do dream of owning one. especially a classic mid-year or 69'427.
and yes they are meant for driving. i test drove a 80' and a 07 at a gm sponsored event. I think what it would take would be events where test driving is permitted....

3. Furthermore,Why not bring back a detuned yet still powerful and Affordable Vette Like the rooftoop that gave way to the Z-06.?I GO To Sebring Every year only for Corvette Racing, But when i have walked in to my local car dealer, And ask to see one, I am looked down at, and practically laughed at.Its not like I am going to Burn Rubber in it!The Older Crowd,Traditionalists, (like me), Classic Vette (53-and some newer) owners are the ones who are approachable .but if you walk up to someone who brought it and doesnt know nothing about it. They shrug you off, Dont Kill the WAVE!.We Dont Need A ferrari or porsche, A Vette Should be a Vette,Basically Alot Of Promotions/Tuning Stuff that would cater to "youngsters" and the next time you see a young guy like me, lets talk vettes.

4. As Far as "Vette" magazine,Should Focus on offering like they did a while back, t-shirts, or a DVD(i have a older vette-Vhs video on how to mod your vette)
maybe lowering the subscription price, but not content. Keep Racing coverage but also cover Vintage Racing And Vintage Vettes.
No offense but I always Was A CF guy before the takeover/merger for that reason.I actually now like both Mags.
Nothing really wrong with vette at all. except that.

5. I am not old (yet) and have begun modding my 07 C6 Z06. Diablo Predator Sport Flash tune for Hi-po was completed two days ago. A CAI will be installed after my first oil change. (I'm at 3,300 miles) I will probably go with the new Bassanni Aft-cat exhaust next June. One article in each issue of "Vette" should focus on common afordable street legal mods. Another article pitting a slightly modded Vette vs a Mustang or ricer/tuner would also lure younger drivers. Having a "Vette" exhibitors booth at ricer/tuner and Mustang events would lure a younger crowd!
PS What is the "best" CAI for the C6 Z06? Any opinions or comparison information is welcome!
